Heavy-Duty Vehicles (HDV)

Innovative solutions for Heavy-Duty Vehicle emissions

Heavy-duty vehicles (HDVs), including trucks and buses, are indispensable to the efficient transport of goods and people across Europe. However, the sector contributes significantly to air pollution, necessitating a proactive effort to identify solutions that mitigate these environmental impacts.

REALCHEM is committed to identifying and evaluating cleaner alternatives for the HDV sector.

This involves examining the efficacy of low-carbon fuels and advanced engine technologies under real-world driving conditions. The research also includes sophisticated modelling techniques, enabling precise assessment of the air quality and public health benefits associated with these technologies.

VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland, Tampere University, IEM, AUTH and SKANE provide experimental data, the results of which are then analysed and synthesized to create actionable scientific data.

REALCHEM will empower manufacturers, fleet operators, and policymakers with the knowledge required to make informed decisions, fostering a heavy-duty transportation sector characterized by sustainability and environmental responsibility.
