Our participation at the AEROSOLS Workshop

On 6 November 2025, REALCHEM participated in the AEROSOLS Workshop on Primary and Secondary Aerosol Emissions from Transport, a hybrid event hosted at the IFP Energies nouvelles headquarters in Rueil-Malmaison, France, and online.

The workshop brought together a diverse group of stakeholders, including researchers, policymakers, and industry representatives, to discuss the latest developments in transport-related emissions and their environmental and health impacts.

The event featured contributions from several Horizon Europe projects working on similar challenges, including AEROSOLS, PAREMPI, EASVOLEE, and REALCHEM. Together, these projects are advancing knowledge on both primary and secondary emissions from transport, supporting the development of more effective mitigation strategies and policies.

REALCHEM was represented by the project coordinator, who presented the project’s objectives and ongoing work on emissions from low-carbon fuels in hard-to-electrify transport sectors such as aviation, shipping, and heavy-duty transport.

The presentation highlighted the project’s role in generating robust scientific evidence to better understand the impacts of emerging fuel technologies on air quality, climate, and human health.

The workshop also included a scientific and technical panel discussion, offering participants the opportunity to explore current challenges and future perspectives related to transport emissions. Key topics included the formation of secondary pollutants, the implications of new fuel types, and the need for integrated approaches to address both air quality and climate objectives.

Participation in the workshop provided a valuable opportunity for REALCHEM to exchange knowledge with closely related projects, particularly those from previous funding rounds such as AEROSOLS, PAREMPI, and EASVOLEE. These interactions help strengthen collaboration across the research community and ensure that insights and methodologies are shared effectively.
